3 . Bring your awareness to the sensation of your breath at the back of your throat.

4 . Constrict the glottis, or back of the throat, slightly to make a soft hissing or ocean-like sound as you inhale and exhale. It can often sound like a soft snore. Take long, slow, deep breaths in and out with the sound.

5 . Keeping the breath audible, inhale for a count of six and exhale for a count of six for five rounds.

✺ A count of breath is an estimated 1 second, or the time it takes to chant “Om .”

6 . Inhale audibly for a count of six.

7 . Retain your breath in while engaging Jalandhara Bandha by contracting your chin toward your throat for three counts.

8 . Exhale audibly for a count of six, moving into the next inhalation immediately without holding the breath out.
