BABY BRAMBLE

The baby bramble is my ultra-simplified version of the modern

classic gin cocktail the bramble. First introduced by Dick

Bradsell in the 1980s, the bramble is a refreshing mix of gin,

lemon juice, and simple syrup, topped with crème demure

(blackberry liqueur). Crème demure can be a tough ingredient

to find, so this easy version replaces the syrup and liqueur with

homemade blackberry syrup for loads of fresh berry flavor.

2 ounces gin

1 ounce lemon juice

1 ounce blackberry syrup

Lemon wheel, for garnish

Blackberry, for garnish

INSTRUCTIONS:

Combine the gin, lemon juice, and syrup in a cocktail shaker. Fil ¾

of the shaker with ice. Shake until chil ed, about 12 seconds. Strain the drink into a rocks glass fil ed with ice and garnish with a lemon wheel and a blackberry.
