“Pretty sure that qualified as ‘shooting first’,” Josh declared as he rolled his Dragon fighter to port, turning to intercept the attacking pirate snub-fighters. “Lannie, stay on me. Trish, cover the Seiiki.”

“I got your six,” Lannie confirmed.

“I’ve got the Seiiki,” Tricia acknowledged.

“Seiiki, jump ahead one light second to set these two up for me,” Josh advised as he prepared his intercept jump.

“Jumping one light second,” Nathan replied over comms as he dialed up a manual jump.

The Seiiki rocked again as more plasma bolts slammed into her port shields, causing them to flash repeatedly.

“I don’t think these guys plan to board us to take their cut,” Jessica stated as she tried to lock the Seiiki’s defensive weapon on the attacking snub-fighters.
