Three weeks later, K’Rin reported, “I have a communication from H’Roo: he sounds optimistic. The Ordinate are building a permanent garrison on Clemnos. In his travels, H’Roo saw Ordinate surveying teams marking off a huge facility with landing pads just the right size for Ordinate cargo shuttles. He even saw what he thought was some labor under guard, which he’s convinced must be clone labor. He says the main Clemnos spaceport is crowded with Ordinate traffic coming and going. The area is thick with Security Troops, even a handful of Hunters.”

“That’s bad.”

“In the short run, it’s good. With almost weekly, sometimes daily flights between Cor and Clemnos, security must be a bit lax. If they’re bringing clone labor, that’s perfect. All you have to do is move in, assume the person of a clone or Ordinate female, then take her place on the trip back to Cor. With the influx of humans on Chelle, you can blend in. But we need to move before they build a permanent garrison. Then you can bet security will tighten up.”
