Chapter 6

Finally Back

The captain announced their imminent arrival at Draconis. There was time to eat breakfast and make sure everything was packed. As far as she was concerned, it was a complete relief. It was hard to say how Torr felt about it. He gave little away with a look on his face that defied classification. If they stayed together, she was sure she would learn his moods.

The question for now was would they end up together? They’d been intimate which was a big step. She had to admit Torr was incredible. Nothing in her experience compared to him. His position didn’t matter to her one way or the other. Yes, there were benefits to being an empress, but the responsibilities more than balanced that out.

Her choice would be made based on the male. Did she love him? She thought she might. Did he love her, he seemed to? The decision needed to be made soon because leading him on wouldn’t be right if she decided not to mate him. The sex was mind blowing and they got along well. Torr was handsome, built, smart and likeable. Damn, what was she waiting for?

“I’m hungry.” Torr said as he helped her sit at the table. Breakfast was being served there.

“Me too. The food has been good onboard.”

“This will be our last meal on the ship.”

“Will you miss it?” She asked.

“Not much. I’ll still have you with me.” He admitted.

“True, but we won’t spend as much time together. We both have our different roles to play.”

“I think we’ll have more time together than you think.”

She started to ask what he meant but the room filled rapidly, and people were excited and talking. They knew they would be going planet side soon. A few were nervous but most looked happy to finally be here and ready to start their new lives. There were no questions today, just the buzz of excitement and the need to get back to their rooms and pack.

There was only one bag for her to pack and Torr apparently left clothing and other items onboard many of their ships. It was part of being the emperor that he might be called away at the last minute. Having personal items already there saved having to pack.

Now that the meal was over, she would pack and then Torr would escort her to the shuttle. He and his personal staff along with any guests would leave first. There were no guests unless you counted her and only two body guards. They would ensure his safety until they were back in the castle where others would take over.

The shuttle ride was short, and Torr helped her off the shuttle. The guards were in front of them making sure no one could get to them. An airbus waited for them and they got on it. The castle was in the distance and they headed for it.

When they arrived, they were surrounded by people and escorted to their separate rooms. Once she entered it, she fell on her bed.
