Self-regulation
Self-regulation relates to any and all of the skills that encompass your ability to regulate yourself.
You are able to control yourself and manage your emotions thanks to your emotional intelligence, even if your temperament tries to lead you astray.
You are able to stop and see how you should behave and override those impulses in order to guarantee the results you need.
There are several skills within this competency that allow you to be more effective on your own, which in turn enables you to be more effective in social situations. When you can regulate yourself, you can then begin to regulate others or ensure that others are not regulating or controlling you instead.
Self-control: When you have self-control, you are able to regulate yourself. This is the epitome of regulation.
