1. Refer to Quilting 101, page 93, for appliqué preparation and instructions. Use your favorite method to appliqué the shapes, following the numerical order on the diagram. Make 4 blocks.

2. Press and trim each block to 10½" square.

Large Broken Dishes Block Assembly

1. Sew a background triangle (B) to a green triangle (C). Press seam toward green fabric. Make 40 B/C units.

2. Sew a red half-square triangle (E) to a tan half-square triangle (F). Press the seam toward the red fabric. Make 20 red and tan E/F units.
