Chapter Six
I buried myself under Zachary, but it was no use. The rain came so fast and furious, everything was soaked in seconds.
We broke our carnal connection, and he backed up under the lip of the roof.
âCare to watch the storm roll in?â
âNot really.â
âI promise Iâll make it interesting, and safe.â He opened his arms and his legs, allowing me to crawl in between, and grabbed the folded blanket heâd tossed out earlier.
âUsually, after,â I let the word hang there, hoping he understood what I meant after doing the deed. âI shower and get dressed before I cuddle.â
Under the wrapped blanket, he kissed the side of my neck, and his strong thighs held me tight. âWell, if thatâs what you preferâ¦â
When he lifted the blanket an instant breeze of cool, rain-tinged air rushed under, almost chilling me to the bone.
âIâd prefer this. Itâs warmer.â I pushed my back against his chest.
The rain continued to drench us, but somehow it was as highly charged as I was. I wrapped my ankles around his legs, opening up to the fresh air as a rumble of thunder rolled in the distance and thundered in my heart.
His hands roamed over my chest, holding me close. Slowly, as he continued to kiss my neck, his hand slipped under my arm, across my belly, and dropped between my legs.
âOh, god,â I called out as he touched me. His hands had cooled slightly in the rain.
His other hand joined in the fun, first rubbing my hip, and then the top of my thigh, before popping into the heat flowing out of me.
I arched my neck, feeling his kisses and nibbles while his fingers played and stroked and rubbed and caressed until my breath hitched deep in the back of my throat. He teased and groaned in my ear, making my core the center of his undivided attention. Good lord, it was wonderful, and as the sensations built to higher and higher levels, I pushed my shoulders harder into his chest, the rain dancing across more and more of my skin. It was heavenly. And orgasmic. A violent shudder wracked my body just as a rumble sang out across the sky.
Breathless â my chest heaving uncontrollably â I melted into his arms.
âThat wasâ¦â
âI know.â I felt his smile against my cheek as a new warmth flowed and filled in the cracks of my heart.
We stayed that way until the storm passed us by, and the skies darkened further. For a moment, I thought weâd both fallen asleep as the embrace we were in was warm, safe, and relaxing.
However, with the approaching storm, huddled together buck naked wasnât my idea of a fun time. My clothes were drenched, as were his, but uncomfortably, we pulled them on.
âIâll take you to your hotel, you can grab a change of clothes, and then weâll head to my place for a shower before you take me out for that dinner you promised.â
âI like the sound of that.â
