Thirty-two

Gareth was a gentle yet demanding lover. He was moving inside her and the feeling was exquisite. Wrapping her arms around him, she felt the muscles in his back ripple with each delightful movement. Reaching around to the front, Steph ran her fingers through his chest hair, tight curls – so different. Her climax was building and it sounded like he was close too. Wrapping her legs around him she tried with every fibre to show him just how right this felt and just how close she was. Finally she reached the plateau stage; there was no going back now. Pulling him further inside herself with her legs, she felt it build, reach a peak, and … ‘Oh God – Gareth!’

She awoke with a start. Had she called out his name for real or had she actually mumbled? Glancing left she saw John, thankfully still asleep and snoring away to himself. Of course, it all made sense now. That explained why she’d been having sex in a field and that explained the cow gently mooing in the next field. Funny how she hadn’t found that weird at the time. But, wow, an orgasm in her sleep – that didn’t happen often.

Sadly, within seconds she remembered the full extent of her visit to Gareth’s and greyness descended upon her.

Later that morning, upon opening the airing cupboard door, Steph felt rage rise inside her as she so often did when the toilet rolls fell on her. She knew John’s reasons for insisting they had a never ending supply of them and she did sympathise but sometimes when they all fell out she couldn’t help but feel frustrated.

When he was eighteen, long before he met Steph, John had been at a party. The party was one of those affairs where a mate’s parents go away for the weekend and actually believe their son when he says he won’t have any friends round. John was reasonably drunk but not as drunk as the many people who’d settled down to sleep the night in the house. There were bodies strewn across the floor in every room and the place was bulging to full capacity. Unfortunately, it was about 4am when John became aware that he needed the toilet. He didn’t simply need a wee. Clambering over the array of pretty girls asleep on the floor and the pissed boys also asleep on the floor, John made his way to the bathroom. Once in there he locked the door and, with relief, lowered his trousers and prepared to relieve himself of the almighty poo he really needed to be rid of. Glancing to his left he saw … an empty toilet roll holder. With a growing sense of dismay he swiftly rose from the toilet and pulled his trousers up. He then made his way to the downstairs toilet, gingerly stepping over more sleeping bodies. Once in the downstairs toilet his sense of unease increased dramatically – there taunting him on the wall was another empty toilet roll holder.
