“Where is everyone?” Tara asked.

Celeste sidestepped the bodies of the non-human species that Axane had killed when they had been on the surface.

“Let’s keep walking,” Celeste said.

They strode through a road in between buildings. Again, there was no sign of anyone. To Celeste’s relief, they did not encounter any more dead non-human species. She wasn’t sure if Axane could control herself after what had happened to her colony. This colony was Axane’s baby, but it had been completely gutted by Eric and his allies. Celeste had no intention of imagining what might be going through Axane’s mind.
