Chapter 15
âWait, wait. I have to try it on,â Lo said.
Lance smiled at her excitement and handed Lo the holster, watching her buckle it on. âItâs going to look a little odd, over your pretty outfit.â
Picking out the holster had been harder for him than deciding on what model revolver to get Lolita. The womanâs holster he had chosen had all kinds of questions he hoped heâd answered correctly. It needed a bra band size. That, heâd found, was different than bra cup size. Lo was quite well endowed, but actual breast size didnât matter. She was slim so heâd guessed the band size at thirty-four inches. They also wanted the gun pouch size and a right or left crosswise draw. He got the small pouch for a right-handed woman.
Lance hoped his eyes didnât bulge like a cartoon character. It didnât look odd, as he had predicted. The black holster band sat right below her breasts in that pretty suit.
Lance decided it was about the sexiest thing heâd ever seen as he watched Lo practice her draw, playing with the lethal weapon. She pantomimed aiming, squinting, and pointing the weapon at a lamp across the room. She said, âbang,â put the gun tip to her lips, and blew on it like she was cooling her weapon after a righteous kill.
He wished he could take a picture right now so he could save it and admire her at this moment forever. He also wished he could throw her on the bed and ravish her, but their relationship was so new heâd decided, even before the trip, to go slowly.
He already knew they were intimately compatible. That last week aboard the passenger cruise liner in the Caribbean had proved they were sexually well matched, with healthy passionate appetites and desires. Most important, Lo was inventive and they had fun together, in bed and out.
He watched Lo lay the new weapon carefully back in the box. She put it in her purse, along with the bullets and harness.
âLetâs go for a walk and find a place to eat,â Lance suggested.
Normally walking around any town dressed up as they were could be dangerous, attracting thieves or pickpockets, but not in Cannes, with the film festival in full swing and parties held all over the area.
They wandered toward the big hotels and found a tiny French dimly lit restaurant on a cobbled side street lit with old-fashioned lanterns. The aromas from inside were enticing. Lance knew the prices were hiked almost everywhere during the festival, but he didnât care.
They were shown to a table and started looking over the menu. Neither could read a word of French. âWhat do you like?â
âAnything. I love French food,â Lo said. âExcept for the icky snails and frog legs.â
The waiter arrived and Lance said, âCould you give us the dinner special, excluding snails and frog legs?â
âAh, but the frog legs are to die for,â the waiter said sadly. âYou miss a treat.â
âMaybe next time,â Lance said.
They started with French onion soup.
