Luminé grabbed the vase and threw it across the room, no longer able to contain his mounting anger. Michael had tried to provoke him. He was growing tired of his peers giving him a hard time. He knew deep down he was crossing the line, but a part of him believed he was superior to them, and therefore entitled, or rather privileged, to push the boundaries.
After brooding for a long while, he glanced at the sun. He was running late. He was due at the Throne Room this morning to give his report on the design project of the lesser creatures. Afterward, he was going to spend the rest of the day with Splendora at her realm.
As Luminé left his home, Legion followed at a distance. He had been monitoring Luminé closely as of late. As Luminé went to the entrance of the Throne Room, Legion circled to the backside of the Mountain and settled into his usual hiding place within earshot of the Throne Room.
When Luminé arrived, the Throne Room was bathed in the early morning sunlight, with water flowing around the sides. The air held a profound freshness scented with the smell of flowers, creating a peaceful ambiance. The Lords were already seated in their thrones, waiting for him. He walked quickly across the floor and bowed. âGreetings, my Lords.â
âWelcome Luminé,â said Calla, making no mention of his tardiness.
Adon said, âLuminé, tell us how the creature designs are coming along.â
âIt is excellent, my Lords. Under my direction, all of the Archangels and the Angels in their realms are excelling. I visited many of them, once again, yesterday to inspect their progress. I can only say that you will all be pleased with the work we have done.â
The Lords were pleased to hear this. Calla said, âWell done, Luminé. Thank you for coming.â
Luminé bowed, turned to leave, then stopped and turned back. âMy Lords, I do have one more question. How is the progress of the design of the Humans coming along?â
Yeshua replied, âLuminé, I am sorry, but as we have said before, the project is not any of your concern. We are handling it, and it will be revealed in time.â
Luminé nodded. âBut my Lords, may I ask how exactly, will they be different from the Angels?â
Yeshua replied again, âLuminé, we have revealed all that we are able to.â Yeshua knew there were important reasons the Angels could not be fully informed, but Luminéâs insistence was troubling. Perhaps Michael and Gabriel were right. Perhaps Luminé was not fit to be an Archangel any longer.
Luminé half-bowed. âI am sorry, my Lords. I merely wanted to understand.â
Calla stood. âThat will be all, Luminé.â
Luminé bowed again, saying nothing, turned, and left.
As he was walking away a shiver ran down Callaâs spine, and she turned to look behind her. She carefully scanned the area around the throne. She had sensed Legionâs presence.
