PART III

EQUILIBRIUM

IN THE BEGINNING

Countless Eons ago

Before there was anything, there was nothing. Empty space is not nothing; space is a thing. Nothing is not a thing. This state of nothingness endured, unchanging, then suddenly, something did change. Thus began a new temporal moment, the beginning of time.

The first place to appear was quite unlike the ones that came after. This space was not physical; it was a dimension of conscious energy. It was in this location that the first light emerged. Shortly after the appearance of the first, two more lights appeared one after the other, each equal in intensity to the first. The first light had a purple hue, the second was yellow-red, and the last glowed a bright green.

Then a voice spoke. Its speech was unlike a human’s, projecting sound with their mouths that travels through the vibrations of air molecules. Instead, the communication reverberated through the dimension.

“Arise, Primals!”

The three lights pulsed with luminous energy and started to take humanoid shapes. As this was occurring, three more lights appeared nearby. These were less intense than the original three, but each was majestic in its own right.

“Arise, Ancillas!”

The second set of lights started to throb and morph as well. Finally, a smaller, far dimmer orb appeared. This light was pale compared to others.

“Arise, Tritios!”

As this final light took shape, the energy of the dimension increased, and sounds and tiny lights began to dance everywhere. Then a swirl of life force emerged between the three sets of beings. This force shifted rapidly between them, leaving a bright red trail as it moved. Finally, the face of a young woman appeared amid the swirl as it stopped before the first of the Primals, a tall and elegant woman dressed in black.

“You are Dayyana, the first of the Primals, the aspect of the Sovereign One’s Justice.”

Next, the force moved to the Primal beside Dayyana. “You are Haniel, the second of the Primals, the aspect of the Sovereign One’s Order.” The face circled playfully around the last of the Primals. “And you are Apocalypse, the third of the Primals, the aspect of the Sovereign One’s Understanding.”

The three Primals bowed their heads in reverence. “What should we call you?” inquired Apocalypse.

“Hmm. I’m the Breath of the Sovereign One. You may call me Neshama.”

Neshama turned, darted between the second set of lights, and stopped before them. “You, first of the Ancillas, the Warrior of the Sovereign One, will be called Michael. You, the second of the Ancillas, the Messenger of the Sovereign One, are Gabriel. And you, the Protector of the Sovereign One’s works, are Sapha.”

Last, Neshama went to the lesser light and circled it several times. “Last of the Great Lights, the Keeper of Annals of the Sovereign One, you are El-Samar Seper.”

As Neshama finished naming the Great Lights, a mass of energy swelled behind them and took the form of a man. This individual’s flesh glowed bronze, and his shoulder-length hair was white like wool. A white robe draped his body, and a gold sash adorned his chest.
