When the debate is complete, you can help drive home the learning that occurs by encouraging, or even requiring, learners to keep a journal or engage in some other reflective process like writing one-minute papers, creating a photo collage, or drafting a digital story to convey and represent their ideas and new learning (Jehangir, 2012). Having students reflect on what they learn spurs additional ideas and innovations about the subject matter.
