Chapter Eighteen

During the arrest at 6:18a.m.

After arriving to the precinct, Landon sat at his desk to look over the evidence that was placed there for him to review. His phone interrupted his thoughts as he looked at the name on the screen.

“”It’s 6:18 a.m., and I know why she's calling. Might as well as get this over with!" Landon thought to himself. After a couple of rings he slid the screen on the phone and takes a deep breath before answering.

"Hello Detective West," Landon answered.

"Don't give me that Detective West bullshit. What the hell is going on and why are you arresting my husband?" Shelby whispered.

"Wait a minute, you can calm down with all that cursing you got going on right now," Landon replied.

"No I'm not calming down. I have officers in my home at six something in the morning, searching through my stuff. I feel violated right now. Is this some kind of way to get him out the picture Landon? Why are you arresting my husband?" Shelby said still whispering.

"I can't tell you Shelby and if I wanted to get your husband out the picture, it would not be that hard. I told you before that I would come to your house, tell him what he wasn't doing, and take you to a place that you wouldn’t have to worry about him anymore! Don't play me anything less than a man in this situation. Now that you have insulted me, I must go. You are more than welcome to accompany your spouse to the precinct if you like. Good bye!" Landon said sternly.

Then he hung the phone up the phone on Shelby, this was something that he had never done before. He threw the phone on his desk and placed his hands over his face. Landon knew that there was a possibility that this was going to happen when she found out about her husband.
