Standard 7 (HSG-SRT.C.7) asks students to use their understanding about complementary angles and relate it to their new knowledge of trigonometric ratios. Understanding of complementary angles is first addressed in 7th grade (7.G.B.5) when students are asked to use facts about complementary angles in multistep problems to solve for an unknown angle.
