THE ARTFEST FATBOOK

These arty books are ultra-thick and chock-full of arty goodness—hence the designation, fatbook. Fatbooks are a common form of artistic collaboration and are basically the results of an art exchange bound into an impossibly thick book loaded with original art. Pages tend to be no larger than 6″ (15.2 cm) square, and can be made of paper or fabric.

These ArtFest fatbooks were coordinated by Carol Parks for the ArtFest retreat held in 2007. Given the large number of participants, the work involved in coordinating is substantial.
