Author’s Note

Thank you for reading this short story. I hope it has touched you the way it touched me as I wrote it. If you have never believed in Jesus as your Savior, I would encourage you to do so today. The only thing sure in life is that everyone will die at some point. Every second of every day, someone passes into eternity. Whether that eternity is in heaven or in hell depends on their standing with God.

God is the holy and perfect Creator of the universe. He created a perfect world in which there was no sin. Then He put Adam and Eve into the perfect world and gave them just one rule to follow, “Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” (Genesis 2:16-17)

Satan, disguised as a serpent, deceived Adam and Eve and sin entered the world. But God had a plan to wash that sin away. He sent His Son, Jesus, to live a perfect life here on earth, to die for our sins, and take on Himself the punishment for our sins. The Bible says in Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned.” No one is guiltless before God. God also said in Hebrews 9:22b that “without shedding of blood is no remission.” This is why Jesus had to die for you and me.

The best news in the world, though, is why we celebrate the Resurrection and why in my story, the tomb rejoiced so mightily when Jesus rose from the dead. John 1:12 tells us, “But as many as received Him [Jesus], to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.” That’s all it takes. Receive Jesus and believe in His name.

Receiving and believing in Jesus does not guarantee we will never sin again or that we will never have problems again, but God is always “faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness,” all we need to do is confess those sins to him (1John 1:9).

If you have any questions, I would love to talk to you about this. You can email me at: [email protected].

For [God] hath said, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”

So that we may boldly say, “The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.” (Hebrews 13:5-6)

If you enjoyed this book, would you consider writing a review of it? Reviews are an author’s best friend second only to their fans who share their books with their friends. Thank you! As my friend said:

There once was a kind Christian reader

Who wanted to do something sweeter.

So she left a review

At a vendor or two

And became a new author's cheerleader.
