Tough Talking

Kai opened the door of his house. “Hi Chelsea. Hey, Tommy. You just get back?” said Kai.

“Yeah,” Tommy nodded. “Can we go somewhere private? Just you, me and Chelsea?”

“We can talk here. Everyone’s gone out.”

Kai led them through to the kitchen. “Something wrong?” he asked. For once, he wasn’t smiling.

And he wasn’t smiling when he looked at Chelsea’s video either. He watched it over and over again. “I’ve been set up. I’m a mug,” Kai said. He slumped at the table, his head in his hands.

“I’ve got a plan,” said Chelsea softly. “It’s something Tommy says about being in the army. He says you don’t run from the enemy. You deal with them.”

Tommy nodded, then said just as softly, “And you, my friend, have got some serious enemies to deal with.”
