The Rotary Garden

Middle Mill was a corn mill over the road from Pavey’s Temperance Hotel. Long since demolished, the site is now known as ‘The Rotary Garden’ and is funded by the local Rotary Club. It was first planted in 1975. In the early photograph, Pavey’s Mill is on the right from a view looking towards the Gorge. In the recent photograph, taken from Jacob’s Ladder, the corner of Pavey’s Hotel, now Old Rowland’s Gift Shop, is to the left and the Rotary Garden is beyond the white car.
