Buck Limehouse has always been an avid outdoorsman and horseman. While living in Florida, he learned to play polo and brought the sport with him to the Lowcountry. Polo has been big in Aiken, South Carolina, for over a century but not so much in the Charleston area. Today, his sons and grandchildren are avid players of the game.

We photographed Buck, H. B., “Chip” III (a former South Carolina State Representative), and Chip’s daughter, Eliza, at their family plantation, Airy Hall, located near Green Pond in Colleton County on the Ashepoo River. Eliza is well on her way to becoming a very successful young entrepreneur as the founder of a jewelry company, a distributor of facial products, and a reality television star.
