Johanna Farmer asked where baby-wet Catherine was to sleep.

"In here with me, of course."

"There is a small room to the side that we could use. That way, if she awakes in the night, I can feed her without waking all."

"That would be good. Make it so."

Janet Farmer, Catherine's bodyguard, checked out the room.

"It is a good defensive point. The door can be barred from the inside and is stout enough that it would take a battering ram to break through. Also, there is a heavy wardrobe that can have round wooden pieces placed under it so that it can be quickly rolled into place, further blocking the door."

"Well thought Janet," I said.

I will sleep on this side of the door to guard it and help protect you."

"Is that necessary, My Lord James, insists that two guards are outside my door at all times and another two inside at night?"

"We don't know who may be planning evil, and Bodmin is strange territory to us, so we must take precautions."

"I guess, though it seems excessive. It would take an army to get through the Keep, much less this room."
