2 cups butter

1 cup sugar

1 whole egg and 1 yolk

egg whites

3-4 cups flour

chopped nuts

Cream butter until soft. Add sugar and blend well. Add whole egg and yolk together. Add enough flour to handle. Cut dough into circles and cut edges. Make a filling of beaten egg whites, sugar and nuts and fill cookies. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake until light brown.

Pepparkakor

3/4 cup lard

1 cup sugar

1/4 cup molasses

1egg

2 teaspoons soda

2 cups flour

1/2 teaspoon cloves

1/2 teaspoon ginger 1teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon salt

Melt lard in a pan. Add rest of the ingredients. Make into balls and roll in sugar. Bake until done.
