In helping to avoid non-contact injuries during the season, you need to add single leg exercises into your programs. Incorporating single leg exercises, works muscles which are different that those you’d work by doing exercises with both feet on the ground. The groin, glute mead and balance, receive more focus than if you were to focus only on normal squats, deadlifts and cleans. There are several single leg exercises you can incorporate, and I recommend you implement as many as you can. You don’t need to cover it all at once. It’s most beneficial to start with easy single leg exercises, and then progress to more difficult ones when your athletes are ready.
