1) Return to the first window, hand in receipt, and receive illegible form.

2) Take illegible form to a separate office, where someone then handed her an entirely different illegible form.

3) Take both forms to a new office and receive a stamp.

4) Take forms to a third, never-before-seen office and receive another stamp.

5) Exit the building with no set direction and walk around aimlessly until she found a green door, where a man presented her with another form.

6) Before going back into the customs area, go to the ticket office to exchange one form for another.

7) Return to second window (the one where she paid the twelve dollars earlier) and get yelled at for not having the receipt from the ticket office.

8) Go back to ticket office to mime the need for a receipt for something she was unsure of.

9) Return to second window, receive another receipt.

10) Go to a fifth location, where things seemed to come together a little bit with a man actually signing things, stamping, and all else.

11) Get handed a new form by said man.

12) Take that form to a sixth office to get stamped.

13) Somehow exchange six U.S. dollars for two Turkmen manat with locals who happened to be at the building and who didn’t know anything about exchange rates.

14) Take money and form to a seventh office to get stamped and signed.

15) Bring everything back to the guy in the fifth office, where she now filled out the customs declaration.
