From Mam Buidhe a steeper climb leads to the summit of Stob Coire Raineach. Descend gently northeast onto a rocky plateau at 800m altitude. From here the descent will be northwest: but first wander out to Stob nan Cabar, a rocky viewpoint.

From Stob nan Cabar return across the rocky plateau to the foot of Stob Coire Raineach (NN 195 552). From here descend northwest. If there is snow, simply seek out the longest streaks for a bit of fun downhill. Otherwise a comfortable way down is to follow the small spur immediately to right of the stream (Allt Coire Raineach). Once below the steep rocky ground, slant left to the path of the outward route, or head straight downhill to the closest point of the A82 road.
