I went on to offer to breach the impasse by supporting Tom as CEO in the short term, provided that if he was unable to secure the support of the regulator by June 2015, he would agree to step down and agree to the appointment of a new CEO. This was, I believed, a pretty generous offer. It was predicated on the basis that I had 5 per cent of the outstanding shares immediately following the lifting of the regulatory restrictions and that if a new CEO were appointed he or she would need to be incentivized through Tom’s shareholding.
