Jaron’s parents lived in Oahu, Hawaii. Nina had lived there for many years before moving to North Carolina. Jaron was born in Oahu but moved to the mainland as an adult to pursue his military career. He would call his parents tonight over coffee, put them on a video call, and deliver the good news to them at the same time as everyone else.

As they pulled into the driveway of Cindy and Lou’s house, Autumn looked over to Jaron, love filling her eyes. “Jaron, I am so excited to tell everyone. I can hardly stand it!” Jaron told her she only had to contain herself for about five or ten more minutes. They walked into the house, and everyone was already there. They were sitting in the living room, enjoying their coffee and some cookies. Nina brought a pineapple cream cheese pie, and they all had a plate of that as well. After they walked in and greeted everyone with hugs and kisses, it was obvious; no one had a clue about the engagement. Jaron excused himself to the kitchen to dial his parents. After he got them on the call, he re-joined Autumn and the others in the living room. Jaron announced that he has his parents on a video call, and Nina got a spark in her eye. She knew what was about to happen. Smiling from ear to ear, Nina greeted her sister on the line. Jaron spoke loud and clear, “Mom, Dad, Aunt Nina, Uncle James, Mrs. Cindy and Mr. Lou, Autumn and I have an announcement to make. I have asked Autumn to be my wife, and she has accepted the challenge!” The crowd went wild.
