Dave Neyle and Inga Lidums bring diverse but very relevant experience to the Lobethal Road vineyard, the lion’s share planted to shiraz (3.1ha), with smaller amounts of chardonnay, tempranillo, sauvignon blanc and graciano. Dave has been in vineyard development and management in SA and Tasmania since 1990. Inga brings 25 years’ experience in marketing and graphic design in Australia and overseas, with a focus on the wine and food industries. The property is managed with minimal chemical input.

Bacchant Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 2012 Its complexity is writ large. Its acidity is a daring drive from start to finish. And yet it comes across as fine, soft and elegant. Enough creamy/toasty oak, enough grapefruit and white peach-like flavour, enough struck match complexity. It’s all a fine balancing act, but they’ve nailed it to the head of a pin.
