Clothing

Whenever possible have the child wear comfortable and/or loose fitted clothing. Have them wear layers of clothing that suit the temperature of the room so they are not too hot or too cold. Encourage the child to practice yoga poses barefoot. If the child does not prefer being barefoot they can wear socks, preferably non-slip ones, to practice poses.

Tools and Props

Use tools and materials suggested on page 76 whenever necessary to support the child in doing poses.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS

Balance

If the child does a pose on one side always attempt to have them do the pose on the opposite side. Using both sides of the body supports activating the left and right hemispheres of the brain, encouraging whole brain integration and motor coordination.
