“I feel pretty good so don’t expect to be tied down long with the medicos,” Earl Colgrove informed Mitchell even before he was out of India en route to the United States. By the time he reached American soil he was outlining a documentary for public release on “Mary” Miles’ Naval Group. “This picture,” he suggested, “should show: The planning, the hard work, the tough living, the fight against a numerically superior enemy, the friendships built up between our Navy men and the Chinese who worked with them; and a job well done!”

And Colgrove was itching to get back into the war and do some genuine combat photography.
