Armadillo was standing on the front porch of the little cabin. Breakfast was finished, and now he was gazing at the Big Forest, which stretched all the way along the far edge of the meadow. The forest looked dark, deep and mysterious.

‘What are you doing, Armadillo? You’ve been out here for ages.’ Hare was wearing his favourite green jacket and a new lemon-coloured silk scarf casually draped in a long loop over both shoulders. He was holding two cups of coffee. He handed one to his companion.
