Chapter Ten
Learning New Ways to Resolve Conflicts
C onflict is a normal and healthy part of every human relationship. Your needs and wants are often different from, and in conflict with, those of others. This natural conflict is a frequent and appropriate trigger of anger. Developing healthy conflict management skills allows you to use the energy and motivation generated in situations that trigger anger in a positive way. This enables you to meet your needs more effectively and enjoy closer and more positive relationships. Being more in control of yourself and more effective when dealing with conflict situations also generates a more positive self-image.
