Sometimes Models Find You

A model that I have worked with in the past did this woman’s hair and makeup. On seeing her tattoo, she gave her my name. This young woman, the subject, is a makeup artist herself who was interested in doing some modeling and showing off her art. She had recently lost a lot of weight and wanted to be photographed to note her weight loss. She now works for me as a makeup artist and occasional model.

Locations Beyond Your Comfort Zone

These images were photographed near my home in an artist’s space called Gather’s Studio, where people who lack the space and materials at home can be creative. I liked this place because of the natural brick walls and 12- to 16-foot ceilings. I introduced myself to the owner as an artist in the area, and I was charged a reasonable hourly fee to rent space.
