Chapter Eleven: Using the "L" word.

The drive back to my townhome was silent, mostly because I was dreading the discussion of last night's conversation. Plus the sunlight hurt my head.

He chuckled, "Damn, you really look bad, Love. What can I do to help you?"

I groaned, "I need a shower, to brush my teeth a couple hundred times, and maybe to have my stomach pumped."

He started the shower while I brushed my teeth. While I was in the shower he brought me clean clothes, a cup of Hobee's tea, and a bagel. When I got out of the shower he dressed me in a long t-shirt and brushed and dried my hair. Oh my. He really did love me.

He tucked me into bed and crawled in beside me. I snuggled up close to him, my head rested on his chest, my leg draped over his.

"Aidan?" I whispered.

"Yeah baby?"

"Thank you."

He kissed my forehead gently. "Is Laura ok?"

"No. She's hurting, I think the bastard broke her spirit."

He rubbed my back gently, "Jason said you called."

"Oh."

Aidan chuckled, "Yeah? How much do you remember from last night?"

I cringed. "I think I remember most of it."

I felt him smile. "You're a nice drunk."

"Uh. I'm not sure about that. I think I'm an honest drunk." I admitted.

He laughed, "Baby, you're honest all the time."

"Yeah, but I usually filter."

"You love my balls?" He asked quietly.

"Oh hell. You're not going to make this easy, are you?" I muttered.

He laughed and hugged me close. "Olivia Wilson..."

"Oh. Please Aidan, stop." I hugged him tightly, "I may have been honest last night, but in the light of day, I'm just not ready."

I felt him tense. "Stop?"

"Please."

He sighed, "Ok." I felt his frustration. I couldn't say it. Not when I still felt like crap.

His hand traced lazy circles on my back, "I'm still coming to Chicago."

"Yes, please." I kissed his chest.

"Sleep, Love."

It was a fitful sleep. I was too hot and woke up tangled in the sheets. There was a glass of water on my bedside table with two Tylenol. I took the Tylenol and went in search of Aidan. He was sitting on my couch watching the tv on mute, and working on his laptop.

"Hey. Are you feeling better?" He asked sweetly.

I grinned, "Yes. Definitely."

"Would you like some food? A sandwich maybe?" He got up from the couch and moved into my kitchen.

"I can make us sandwiches." I said. He came behind me and hugged me close.

"We can do it together." He kissed my forehead and then leaned back. "Do you think Laura will eat today?"

I grinned, this man was so sweet. "Yes. I checked the fridge last night. She's got food for the next couple of days. Sara and I poured the rest of the alcohol down the drain around six this morning, just in case."

We made sandwiches and sat down at the kitchen counter. He poured me a glass of iced tea and watched me as I drank.

"Did you take the Tylenol?" He asked.

"Yes. Thank you for taking such good care of me.
