This exercise is a double threat: It works the front abdominals while engaging the stabilizing muscles on the back of your body, all while challenging your brain to balance your body during the movement. No wonder it’s such an effective exercise.

THE MOVEMENT

Start in a sitting position with your hands behind your head and legs stretched out in front of you. Raise your legs up together, and then lower them back down, almost to the floor. This constitutes 1 rep. Be sure to keep your knees extended throughout the exercise.
