Once you’ve made a snapshot or two, you can click a snapshot to return to those settings. You can also right-click snapshots to copy them to the Before image (when using Before & After), rename it, delete it, or replace the snapshot with your current edits.

Presets
Snapshots are only visible within a single picture; you can’t switch pictures and then select a snapshot. If you want to apply settings to different pictures, either synchronize them, copy and paste them, or create a Preset.
Presets are simply a collection of settings, but they’re incredibly useful for creative editing. For example, I have presets for different black-and-white mixes, sepia toning, and creative (Instagram-like) effects.
I don’t necessarily use the presets exactly as they are, but I often browse through my presets for creative inspiration. During the process of browsing, I often see an effect that catches my eye. I might start with that preset, and edit it further to make the picture unique. Or, I might combine the best effects of two different presets.
Lightroom has some presets built-in. You can also download presets from the Internet or create your own.
Creating your Own Presets
To create your own preset, edit a picture and click the Plus symbol on the Presets panel, as shown next.
