VARIATION 1: REVOLVED SUNDIAL WITH A STRAP
Practicing with a strap can make grabbing the lifted-leg foot more accessible, and it can also help you to sit up taller in the pose.
Set up just as you did in the previous variation, keeping a strap within reach. Once youâve snuggled your right upper arm/shoulder under your leg and gotten your leg as high up on your arm as you can, loop your strap over the sole of your right foot and grab hold of it with your left handâhold the strap as high up (i.e., as close to your right foot) as you comfortably can. Then, as in the previous variation, walk your fingertips out on the floor to the right until your right arm is straight. Then begin straightening your right leg as you lengthen your spine, twist to the left and bend your elbow out to the left. Gaze down toward your right fingertips or up under your left arm. Stay for several breaths, then switch sides.
