Wardog stood inside the clubhouse with Tailor as he talked to a few of the brothers; the meeting had run all fucking day. It made everyone edgy when they were voting on stripping a brother or brothers of their patch, even when it was warranted. There hadnât been a single patch holder from the California chapter that hadnât shown up, except the two that the meeting was about. It was a lot of arguing over stripping patches. In the end, everyone voted that the two men had to go.
Fire and Smoke were fuck-ups and tweakers. They both had longer rap sheets than any other club member. The two assholes thought that gave them cred in the club. It didnât, and it kept them down in the trenches doing shit jobs where they couldnât get the club pulled down. Their last stunt had the president of the Blade Runners out of Washington breathing down Tailor's neck. Desi wasnât one to fuck with no more than you wanted to fuck with Tailor. There had been a private meeting between the two presidents. The only people that had been privy to it had been Tailor, Desi, both VPs, and each brought two Sgt. of arms and two enforcers.
The meeting had been held on neutral ground at the Gypsy Kings clubhouse in Lampsing. Wardog was starting to think that was the only reason that particular club had been given the territory. If so, it was a good move on both partiesâ parts.
Wardog knew damn well he had avoided the topic of Phoenix. He should sit Tailor down and ask him why he wanted her brought in. The whole story, not the version Tailor gave him two weeks ago. The two had been pushing against one another for years. Not enough downtime and way too many jobs. To Wardog it seemed like he was always giving his blood for the club. He was damn sure when Tailor found out about him and Phoenix, Wardog would bleed for the deceit.
Stepping outside, he lit a cigar waiting for Tailor. He needed to find out how he wanted the job done. Were they just stripping their patches, or were they burying them in the desert? Wardog was good with either.
The door opened behind him and Tailor stepped out, followed by Trick and Pierce. He didnât miss the stare-down by Pierce. The nomad enforcer wasnât happy about Phoenix being with him. Wardog couldnât blame the man; he was a bastard. âWhatâs the word?â
Tailor dug out a smoke and fired it up. âTomorrow night, take their patches.â
Puffing on the stogie, Wardog hated doing shit that wouldnât do anything but stir things up. âJust their patches.â
âTeach them a lesson, one they wonât forget.â Tailor looked at the cigarette, thinking he should quit.
âI think we shouldâ¦â Wardogâs words were cut off when Tailor got in his face.
âI didnât fucking ask you, Wardog, what you fucking think. Did I? Did I?!â Tailor yelled at him. âNo.â Wardog stepped back when Tailor shoved past him.
