Who do I have to sleep with around here to get a Stoli martini with a twist of lemon?

—CATE BLANCHETT IN WOODY ALLEN’S BLUE JASMINE

In 2010 Stolichnaya ran a campaign called “Would you have a drink with you?” One of the ads featured actress Julia Stiles sitting next to actress Julia Stiles, debating the merits of starring in art-house films versus soulless blockbusters. In another, Hugh Hefner meets his sensitive side who says, “Deep down, I’m just a guy like everyone else, looking for love.” The other Hef lustily eyes a model on a couch and says, “Love. The ads feature witty banter and famous people, which may be what it takes to convince someone to order a Stoli and soda at the bar.
