Step 3 Keeping the spine straight and the hands on the hips, breathe out deeply while extending the spine forward from the waist, moving the upper body toward the legs. The pelvis should be tilting forward with the spine elongating. Keep the legs straight and the toes relaxed, and maintain the weight evenly through the soles of the feet.

Step 4 Breathe steadily, and with the upper body pressing lightly on the front of the legs, rest the hands on the ground at each side of the feet. The fingers should be pointing forward and the elbows pointing backward. Press lightly into the hands to lengthen the spine. Now relax the neck completely and gently lift the shoulders away from the head to create a sense of space around the neck.
