Step 3 Keeping the spine straight and the hands on the hips, breathe out deeply while extending the spine forwards from the waist, moving the upper body towards the legs. The pelvis should tilt forwards and the spine should be elongated. Keep the legs straight and the toes relaxed, and maintain the weight evenly through the soles of the feet.
Step 4 Breathe steadily and, with the upper body pressing lightly on the front of the legs, rest the hands on the ground at either side of the feet. The fingers should be pointing forwards and the elbows pointing backwards. Press lightly into the hands to lengthen the spine further. Now relax the neck completely and gently lift the shoulders away from the head to create a sense of space around the neck.
