Beckys and Karens of the Past
Let me pause for a moment to say all white women were not this way, but there are several other instances in which white women falsely accused black men of rape. These men were killed, and later the white women recanted their stories and received no jail time or any type of punishment. Below are a couple of other instances where this happened:
1931 â Nine black boys from ages thirteen to nineteen were falsely accused in Alabama of raping two white women, Victoria Price and Ruby Bates, on a train near Scottsboro. Ruby Bates recanted her story. She was not charged. 106
1955 â Carolyn Bryant accused Emmett Till of whistling and making sexual advances at her in the grocery store. He was brutally murdered at the age of fourteen for a lie. She admitted she lied in 2017. She was not charged.107
You will not find this in your history books because the authors only want to depict blacks as slaves or âthe Boogie Man,â so to speak, which is always in a demeaning manner. We have a rich history and culture, which is emulated quite often from lip injections, butt injections, dreadlocks, dance styles, and/or risking oneâs health to obtain the rich golden color of black people. I also keep saying to myself, the hatred of the black race must be deeper than skin colorâbut what?
Are those who hate us afraid of the obvious? They just might be the inferior one and that is why they try to intimidate with riots and mobs. Why do they do their crimes as a group? Because maybe, just maybe, if it were a one-on-one fight without weapons, they just might lose. Are those who lack self-esteem afraid that maybe, just maybe, if the playing field were equal, blacks would surpass them? Just something to think about. Or are they afraid that maybe, just maybe, we will do to them what they did to us? The thing about it is, we wonât. We are not built that way. We just want an equal chance, thatâs all, to prove we are capable, just as qualified, to live out the same American Dream. Why is that so difficult?
Look at how strong the black race is, even throughout all of the injustices we encountered, and we are still here. We are resilient. When given an opportunity, we far exceed some whites. Here are some examples. Many years ago, all sports were dominated by whites only. Now look at the following sports: football, baseball, track, a superstar in golf, one in womenâs tennis and one on the rise. They are either all black, majority black, or at least an only black master of the sportâlike Serena Williams. When given an equal opportunity, we excel.
We have even risen against all odds to having a bona fide African American man hold the highest office in the landâPresident! Ever since this happened, Congress did everything they could to undermine his presidency. Now, I ask this question:
