HOW TO MOVE

Choose 5 exercises from this book for your 10-minutes-a-day training. Identify the exercise in this section that you need to improve and repeat until you are able to progress to the next exercise. One exercise comprises both a 1-minute slow movement and a 1-minute static hold.

Leg locking is integral to the exercises for leg flexibility. In fact, it is integral to the majority of exercises in the book! Therefore, in Exercise 1, I’m going to show you how to fully lock your legs. If you have a think through all the leg exercises, or even day-to-day activities, you do or have done in the past, you’ll probably find that your legs have been bent most of the time: lunges, squats, walking, jogging, running, jumping and so on. No wonder touching your toes while keeping your legs straight has become so challenging. You’ve trained your legs to become good at bending. That’s great – but they need to be good at straight-leg motions, too.
