Bend your elbows at a 90-degree angle and swing them back from your shoulders. By swinging your elbows to the rear, you create a counter-balance to your forward lean. Keep your arms and hands relaxed with your wrists moving at the level of your waistband.
Using Your Y’chi
Dreyer explains Y’chi as the act of using your mind to direct the energy and movement of your body through your eyes. To use the Y’chi (pronounced “ee-chee”) technique, focus on a distant object in front of you. Lock your eyes on the object and draw yourself toward it as you run. Try this visualization: pretend that a bungee cord is attached between your sternum and the object in the distance. Let the bungee cord gently pull you toward the object.
