Chapter 5 - Uncertain Love

Julia had invited him for dinner at her house. She was nervous. She could not afford all those expensive items for all those rich foods in the restaurants he took her to.

She searched the internet for an Italian recipe since that was his favorite. Finally she settled on one. She prepared chicken parmigiani, baked sweet potato and irish potato and a mixed vegetable salad that would be sprinkled with cheese. For dessert cinnamon apple crisp along with ice-cream.

He arrived exactly on time and parked in the visitor parking spot before her door. He was expecting a tasty meal he thought to himself. He remembered all those tasty snacks she gave him every week in high school. She always told him she helped her mom to prepare them.

He knocked and she opened the door. A tasty aroma flowed to his nostrils. “That smells delicious.”

“I hope you do enjoy it. Welcome to dinner Leon.” Leon kissed her as he handed her a bunch of roses and a bottle of wine.

“May I offer you some cool drink first ,”she offered. “Some lemonade, raspberry or simply tea?”

“Some lemonade,” he told her.

She served him while Anya stood at the kitchen door inspecting him. “Come, Anya meet Mr. Ross.”

Anya walked slowly across still scrutinizing him. “What is your first name?” Anya asked.

He responded, “Leon.”

“Anya meet my friend Mr. Leon Ross. Mr. Ross meet my daughter, Anya.”

He extended his hand and she hers. He grasped her hand shook it. “Anya that’s a beautiful name.”

“Thanks,” she said and she went and sat down across from him. Julia handed her a drink and then she took one for herself. They sat and enjoyed the drink. “Let us have dinner,” Julia invited them. Leon pulled out a chair allowing Anya and Julia to be seated before he took his seat.

As he placed a piece of chicken in his mouth. “This is delicious. You are always good at cooking. “

She smiled. Thank you.”

“I am looking forward to more goodies like in high school.” He was thoroughly enjoying the meal. They talked about Anya and school and the latest released movies.

Julia and Anya were going to his house for dinner. He had the chauffeur pick them up, but he would take them back home himself. As he finished cooking he took a look around his house making sure everything was in its right place. No other woman had gotten him to do the things he had been doing for Julia. He went to the bathroom and got himself ready for her. Anya would have a million questions about his life. He made sure the chef was over earlier to help him. In no way could he have done this alone. The chef advised him on what to cook for Anya - a kid meal.

He opened the door and sat on the porch waiting for them.

As the chauffeur drove in and parked Leon was already pacing the driveway. He opened the car for them, before the chauffeur had a chance to.
