“Ready?” I asked as I met Jace outside his dorm.

He nodded, pushing off the wall and falling into step with me as we walked toward the main building.

“Have you seen her?” Jace glanced at me.

I shook my head. “I’ve seen Gage. I don’t think she’s back from wherever the hell she went.”

We had watched them drive off campus a couple of days ago, and Gage showed back up after a few hours without Rynn. We hadn’t seen her since. Maybe she decided she was finally done here. Although I doubted it with Gage still here. Part of me was relieved. I wanted her out before shit got worse. But a larger part of me was uneasy about not knowing where she was. I didn’t like not having her close, and that was a fucking problem.

I’d have to get past that fast, especially since Jace and I were on our way to make sure she stayed off campus permanently.

Jace pushed open the door, and we strode down the long hall, stepping into the dean’s office area. His secretary glanced up, a frown appearing on her face when she recognized us. She nervously brushed back her blond hair, straightening up in her chair.

“We need to talk to the dean,” Jace drawled, plastering on a fake smile.

“Do you boys have an appointment?” she asked shrilly.

“He knows we’re coming,” I answered. I’d called the dean’s personal number last night and informed him that we needed to have a little conversation about the video that was in my possession.

She scrambled to her feet, rushing to the door in the back and knocking on it lightly before cracking it open. She stuck her head inside the room, and I could hear quiet arguing before she turned back around and pushed the door wide open.

“He’ll see you now,” she clipped out as she sat back at her desk.

I walked into his office first, coming to a halt when I saw he wasn’t alone. Jace pushed his way next to me, a curse falling from his lips when his gaze fell on the person in here with the dean. Rynn turned in the chair she was in, shooting us a devious smirk. But her being here wasn’t the shock.

The police chief, Torres, was standing near the window, his glare focused on us.

“Are we interrupting?” Jace asked casually.

“No,” Torres answered, his dislike for both of us apparent in his voice. “Sit down. We need to talk.”

Annoyance flared at his command, but we weren’t in a position to start a war with this guy now. What the fuck was he even doing on campus? Rynn jumped up since there were only two chairs in front of the desk, and she bounced away, looking way too cheery as she leaned against the wall near the bookshelf. Jace and I sat down, and I gave the dean a long stare, silently warning him that if this went south, that video was going to be released.

“Let’s drop the charade.” Torres crossed his arms, glaring at the dean.
