LESSON 10

TEACHING FOUR

SIXTEENTH NOTES

YOUR SINGERS NOW KNOW that there can be one, and two, and no sounds on one beat. Hearing four sounds on one beat will lead them to discover four sixteenth notes.

Find a melody in your repertoire of folk songs, vocalises, or choral compositions that your singers know well. For example, consider using the first few phrases of “S’vivon.” Betty Bertaux has written a wonderful choral arrangement of this traditional melody.

S’VIVON
