Flamingteen and others - Okay, I don't know how quite how the Apparition license works. Fred and George left school early and got theirs but my sense was this was something they did on their own initiative, now that they were both "of age" and had the time on their hands to figure it out, since they didn't have to spend their days tormenting Filch. The thing about learning Apparition at Hogwarts or anywhere near it, is you can't Apparate at Hogwarts or anywhere near it. So it would have to be some kind of field trip thing, which maybe would happen normally but with Voldemort & Co. wandering Brittania I can't see that happening. I'm thinking of this more like learning to drive a car: your school might have classes or your parents might teach you, or you can hire a professional either individually or in a group to teach you. Then you get a license when you demonstrate to some minor Ministry official that you can do it without leaving body parts scattered about. Well, that's the way I'm going with it, for lack of any other clear way to handle it.

Thestrals - You know, writing that section brought every major test I've ever taken back to mind. Which was good (for writing that part) but bad (because I really hated taking tests.) The last major test I had was 1994 when I took my GREs for a Master's application. In general what I hated most was that when tests were all over, it never felt like it.

fhippogriff - I was using stress as one excuse for Hermione going off the deep end. That and her desperation to leave one last mark on the school, as quickly forgotten/erased as it will be.

shelly101 - Yes, that was Ron realizing that if he stopped caring about points that he could just owl Fred and George to see what ideas they had for really making trouble. There also was an implication that Snape read his intention in more than his face. The last time Weasleys made trouble without regard to ramification it got pretty serious... and swampy.
