For every Tennessee boy knocked down it seemed that he was able to drag two mercenaries with him. As many men were rolling around on the ground and up against chula cactuses as were slugging it out toe to toe between the boulders and the mesquite trees. Lester had to smile. The boys were all playing nice. No guns or knives were involved; it was just a simple test of raw ability between the back street fighters and the trained military.

Lester put his hand out and hit Günter’s forearm. Günter looked down and saw Lester making a fist. He immediately slowed the vehicle and came to a stop. “We can’t just go rolling hot in there.” Lester said. “Those crazy guys will shoot us dead in all the excitement. We need to walk in there nice and calm and take charge.”

“And how do you propose that we do that?” Günter asked.

“Drive up slow, pull around the corner, off to the right, and park. Just you and I will get out and walk over to the fight. When we get in the middle of that group,” Lester said while pointing up the hill, “just use that MP-5 of yours to light up the sky in the direction of the least populated area. I think I see something that will distract their attention from brawling. Can I borrow that super bright flashlight you had the other day?”
